busy...

The last couple of weeks we have celebrated our anniversary, 3 birthdays, a baptism, valentines, gone on a ski trip up north, dealt with a double ear infection for Grant, three weeks of diarrhea for Ashton and put our house up for sale again.  I am SO exhausted!

This last weekend we headed up north for our annual ski trip.  We discovered half way into our trip that we forgot Grant's ski coat so a quick stop at Meijer led to Grant's new $5 ski coat in size 12 months!  Luckily he is a small boy!  We spent a wonderful few days skiing, sledding, relaxing in the hot tub, eating really good food and enjoying family time.  Grant loved swimming in the pool.  His favorite was walking back and forth from the "hot water" to the "cold water" about a hundred times.  He also swam all by himself with a lot more confidence than he did last summer.  And yes, he did have a life jacket on.  I have high hopes for him not screaming his way through swimming lessons this year!

Monday morning we decided to give Grant a chance at skiing.  We were staying at a ski in/ski out condo with a little hill outside our door.  We figured that would be a good place for him to get the feel for it so we got him all dressed up, strapped on his helmet and took him out to the hill.  He hated it!  He wouldn't stand up and kept sliding everywhere.  Finally, he just freaked out and sat there crying.  So, we took everything off, gave him a short Little Einsteins tv break and then gave it another shot.  This time, Jason skipped the little hill and took him up to the top of the green hill that ended by our condo.  It seemed like forever as I stood there with camera in one hand and video in the other waiting for them to come skiing by me!  Finally, I saw them and just about started crying I was just so proud of him.  He loved it and went down a couple more times before nap time and a couple more times once he woke up.  I think we may have some family trips to Colorado in our future!

sledding outside our condo with our sled that we left there accidentally last year.  We were so excited to see that it was still there!

so proud of my little man!

Yes, Ashton was on this trip with us.  He just spent the majority of his time warm and cozy by the fire inside!
