Peas!

There is really not a lot going on around here these days. Grant and I came down with nasty colds last week so we have been hanging out at home and letting our bodies get healthy. Unfortunately, Grant's cold developed into his first sinus infection. So now, poor G has his dads constant ear infections and his moms constant sinus infections to look forward to in the years to come!
The weather has been pretty nice the last few days so luckily we have been able to get some much needed fresh air and natural Vitamin D. Today however, it is brrrr cold out so we are staying in and making baby food. So far, I have made cups of green beans and peas. I know, not very exciting, but that is the extent of his menu at this point!

Don't they look delicious???

Spring

The birds are chirping, the crocuses are peaking out and the daylight is sticking around a litter longer. This all means one thing... spring is here! This time of year always holds a special place in my heart because it reminds me of the girls. It was March 21, 2008 that we saw one heartbeat and then surprise.... we saw another heartbeat. I was on cloud nine that day thinking that once I heard those heartbeats I had nothing to worry about. That weekend we were finally able to tell our families that after so many years of trying we were finally pregnant with not one, but two miracles.

Two years later I sit here rocking my baby boy in my arms and telling him all about his amazing big sisters and that spring that changed our lives forever.

The weather has been amazing here this week so Grant and I took a trip to the cemetery to say hi to the girls and let them know how much we were thinking about and missing them.

Brooke and Alexcyn,
I can't think of Spring without thinking of you. This time of year will always remind me of the wonderful first weeks I had with you in my belly. I will never forget the excitement when we told our families and friends that we were expecting you. Thinking back to those moments, I can still feel the love and excitement and hope that I had for your future. I miss you terribly and wish you were here with us. Not a day goes by that I don't wonder what life would be like with you and your brother- it would be quite chaotic I can imagine, but it would be amazing.
Miss you and love you, mommy

Guess What????

Grant has his first tooth coming in!
We had a hard time getting him to go to sleep on Wednesday and I felt his gums and there was nothing there. He had a fussy report card from my SIL on Thursday so we wondered if he wasn't happy with the oatmeal cereal we were trying this week. On Friday he was still fussy so I rubbed his gums and sure enough I could feel a tooth coming in!!!! It is near impossible to get a picture of it because it really is just breaking the surface and Grant keeps sticking his tongue out at me when I try. So, these pics of him chewing on his new teething toys will have to do!

5 Months

Today I am 5 months old! Can you believe how fast this year is flying by???? First off, I want to thank everyone who said a special prayer for me last week. I am finally feeling better thanks to my Amoxicillin! I spiked a 103.5 temp on Friday night which scared the daylight right out of my mom and dad. We were visiting my mom mom and pop pop in IN so we went to the dr there on Saturday and they found a nice ear infection brewing in my left ear and possibly my right (my ear canals were too small so the Dr couldn't get a good view!). Mommy says I have to thank my daddy for the ear canal issue- supposedly he dealt with all these issues as a baby too!

This is what I have been up to this month!

I started eating rice cereal and before I got sick I really liked it! Mommy and daddy are hoping that I get back to liking it soon-- I don't think they like it much when I scream and push the cereal out of my mouth!

I finally packed away my Carters 3 clothes and moved on to 6. I am wearing mostly size 3-6 months in everything else, but I still can't keep my pants up because my waist is so thin! I think mommy needs to invest in a baby belt for me soon!

I have started holding onto my bottle and the other day I actually fed myself a whole bottle without dropping it or anything.

I love putting everything I can get my hands on in my mouth! And, I love to grab at everything!! The nurse at the Dr office was surprised at how strong I was when I grabbed onto the cord on the thermometer and wouldn't let go.

I love playing in my jumperoo! Now that my feet finally touch, I love to jump up and down and do a funny side to side jump- I make myself laugh a lot when I do this!

My sleeping has been totally thrown out of whack with being sick. Before that, I was sleeping from 10-8. When I was sick, I wasn't sleeping at all so mommy and daddy are really hoping to get back to a normal sleep pattern really soon.

My biggest accomplishment this month is that I finally rolled over! Mommy tried to capture a picture, but she should know by now that I really don't like that camera so I refused to roll when she took it out!

I weigh 14 pounds 11 ounces.

I love to try to play with my feet. Mommy was trying to get a close up of my face and I surprised her by putting my foot right in her way!

I love music and my new favorite is Go Fish- I can't stop smiling when mommy turns that CD on really loud and dances around with me.

Well, I think that is it for this month! C-ya April 1 when I turn 6 months old!!!
