Cribs

So, I went out casually looking for cribs for last week and freaked out when I was told it would take 12 weeks to order the one I wanted. I expected 6 weeks, but never 12! I do realize that is still plenty of time for us but I really wanted everything set up in time in case I get put on bed rest and also so that Jasper has plenty of time to get used to the transition. So, Jason and I headed out on Saturday to find ourselves some cribs. And, amazingly enough we both agreed on one and they had it in stock so we can take it home anytime. Although, I do have to add that in true Jason style, he tried to talk me into the cheaper model, but I wouldn't go for it. So, below is a pic of our cribs. They turn into toddler beds, day beds and a full bed so these will be with us for years to come.

On another note, I came down with a nasty cold on Thursday and after feeling like my head was going to explode all weekend, I went to the DR today and was diagnosed with a sinus infection. You may safely take amoxicilan during pregnancy, so I am hoping that it kicks in soon because there is really nothing else that I dare take and I don't know how much more of this stuffy nose, coughing and sore throat I can handle!

Trip to Philly

We have returned from our quick trip to Philadelphia and even though it seemed we spent more time in the car than we actually spent there, it was a fabulous trip! We got to catch up with family that I haven't seen since our wedding and Jason actually met some family members for the first time. I have posted a few pics just for fun. Hope you enjoy!

Sugar and spice and everything nice....

That is right..... it is two girls!!! Everything looked fine and they both measured at 19 weeks which is where they are supposed to be. My OB will go over the pics in length at my next appt so that is when we will find out if something didn't look quite right. As for me, my bladder survived- although just barely! We are headed out to PA for the family reunion. I will post pics when we get back next week.

Ultrasound this week

Since we are leaving for a family reunion in Philadelphia this week, my OB said it would be ok to have my 20 week ultrasound a few days early. So, we are going in on Thursday at 11. The sex of the babies will hopefully be confirmed then (yeah!) and they will be doing a lot of measurements and checking up on the babies to make sure they have all of their fingers and toes and that they don't have any abnormalities. I am slightly nervous for this appointment and would love some prayers sent our way if possible. My OB warned me that this is a very uncomfortable time for me because the ultrasound is very lengthy for a multiple pregnancy so I should expect to be hurting by the end. Did I mention that they make you drink 3 glasses of water before you go in and then hold it!!! For those of you who know me well, you know that I need a LOT of prayers to be able to hold it in that long!!

I will post an update on here after the appt but will probably not get pictures up right away as our scanner had to be relocated due to our flooded basement and it will most likely not get hooked up by then. BTW- our basement is now dry!!!

18 Weeks

We experienced monsoon like weather here this weekend and after coming home from the Teusink's party of the year, we found our basement to be under water. Jason and I (and Nate and Jer) stayed up all night trying to keep the water under control, but it finally got the best of us.

Thank you to all the family and friends that braved the rain to help us- especially while their own basements were flooding! And a special thank you to Sarah who brought us the best chocolate funfetti cake ever!

On another note, I thought I would switch it up and get my 18 week belly shot right in the middle of the action. Don't mind the mess in the background or our lovely "new" yellow tile floor!

Mom- You laughed at my galoshes, but they sure saved me from that freezing water!
