I know y0u all are praying really hard and Krista and I are so greatfull. We have the greatest friends on Earth. Things are unfortuanatly taking a turn for the worst. They did a brain scan of Alexcyn and it showed major bleeding on both sides. Her brain is being presured from one side so her brain is not forming equally. Also her lungs are not functioning properly. We where told by the doctor that we may have to make a decision on her in the next couple days as she is not well. We are not even in the right mind to do such a thing so pray God gives us the strength to do the right things.

Today is a new day. We hung out with Alexcyn all night last night. She is doing well with the exception of her lungs. They are very underdeveloped and she is having a hard time getting rid of her Carbon Doixide but the Doctors here are so great and we are so thankfull for them. Today we get to go home. This will be both happy and sad for us as we will be farther away from Alexcyn but we won't be stuck in a hospital. I think we will be staying most of the day so we can see Alexcyn as long as possible. Again, thank you for all you continued prayers.

Baby Girls

I wanted to let everyone know that we had our baby girls last night. The labor came on suddenly and after a fast elevator ride to labor and delivery and one push, Brooke Janae Schrotenboer was born. She was with us only a short time before she went to be with our Lord. Jason and I were able to spend some time with her and our Pastor Frank and Pastor Mark ,who married us, were able to come in and pray for her. Only a short time later Alexcyn Grace was born. She weighed in at 1 pound 2 oz and is a little fighter. She is downstairs in the NeoNatal unit and is doing as good as can be expected for such a tiny baby. We are so blessed to have so many friends and family members who have been there with kind words and prayers during this difficult time. There are so many of you that we just can't quite thank you all personally, but just know that it means so much to us to have you out there as our prayer warriors. Please keep Alexcyn in your prayers as every hour is so precious in her development.

22 Weeks

I can't believe we are at 22 weeks already-it seems like time is flying by! Unfortunately the basement flooding really put a damper on my schedule of getting the nursery ready so I am now starting to freak out a little about getting everything done. This weekend Jason worked really hard at getting the moldy drywall out of the basement bedroom and is now waiting for the last coat of the new drywall mud to dry so that he can start painting. Once that paint is dry we will finally be moving the bedroom furniture out of the nursery so that we can start on that room. I keep changing my mind on what I want to do in there so I won't share my thoughts of the day because they will most likely just change by next week- you will just have to wait to see the pics once the progress starts!

So far I am feeling great pregnancy wise. I am still trying to fight off the last bit of this sinus stuff and am hoping it will be gone soon. I had a great check up last week- Dr says everything looks good and that I am carrying the babies very well and she has high hopes for us going full term. I go in 2 weeks to get my cervix checked again just to be sure all is still going well on the inside. At this point I am going in every 2 weeks for my appts which is another reason I am starting to feel the crunch time wise!

Cribs

So, I went out casually looking for cribs for last week and freaked out when I was told it would take 12 weeks to order the one I wanted. I expected 6 weeks, but never 12! I do realize that is still plenty of time for us but I really wanted everything set up in time in case I get put on bed rest and also so that Jasper has plenty of time to get used to the transition. So, Jason and I headed out on Saturday to find ourselves some cribs. And, amazingly enough we both agreed on one and they had it in stock so we can take it home anytime. Although, I do have to add that in true Jason style, he tried to talk me into the cheaper model, but I wouldn't go for it. So, below is a pic of our cribs. They turn into toddler beds, day beds and a full bed so these will be with us for years to come.

On another note, I came down with a nasty cold on Thursday and after feeling like my head was going to explode all weekend, I went to the DR today and was diagnosed with a sinus infection. You may safely take amoxicilan during pregnancy, so I am hoping that it kicks in soon because there is really nothing else that I dare take and I don't know how much more of this stuffy nose, coughing and sore throat I can handle!

Trip to Philly

We have returned from our quick trip to Philadelphia and even though it seemed we spent more time in the car than we actually spent there, it was a fabulous trip! We got to catch up with family that I haven't seen since our wedding and Jason actually met some family members for the first time. I have posted a few pics just for fun. Hope you enjoy!

That is right..... it is two girls!!! Everything looked fine and they both measured at 19 weeks which is where they are supposed to be. My OB will go over the pics in length at my next appt so that is when we will find out if something didn't look quite right. As for me, my bladder survived- although just barely! We are headed out to PA for the family reunion. I will post pics when we get back next week.
