8 Months

Grant,

Yesterday you turned 8 months old! Everyday with you is a new adventure and daddy and I love to just sit and watch as you figure out the world around you. This is what you have been up to this month...

*You eat 2 fruits and 2 veggies a day. I am still making all the veggies myself but have yet to try fruits other than bananas. You are drinking 4 bottles a day- 2 are breast milk from the freezer supply I built up and 2 are formula. The big news this month is that you are finally eating your puffs and liking them! You have even started to grab them and feed them to yourself.

*You wear size 6-9 month clothes.

*You are a wiggle worm. You hate to sit still and have to be on the move at all times. This has made sitting with you in church nearly impossible!

*You are still doing the combat/army/commando crawl and seem to be quite content with it. I have tried exercises to get you to use both hands and knees and they work for a few crawls and then you go right back to pulling yourself along on your belly. (on a sidenote, our floors are getting very clean=)

*Just the other day you started pulling yourself up onto things. Since then, all you want to do is climb anything that gets in your way.

*You LOVE water. You went in the pool and the lake for the first time this month and loved both of them. When you flipped over in the pool and got your face under for a few seconds, you pulled yourself up and smiled. It seems you have no fear which scares the heck out of me!

*You also love your kitty Jasper. Since you were born, Jasper has been your little protector. Now that you are mobile and think that chasing the cat is the best thing ever, Jasper is not so fond of you. Every time he lays down on the floor, you turn around and start chasing him and he gets up and runs- it is pretty funny.
*At the dr office last week, you weighed 17 pounds, 7 ounces

*This month you got 4 new teeth on top! And, you had another ear infection. Besides these two events, you have started sleeping 10-12 hours at night with no interruptions- wa hoo!!!!!!!

g- You are in such a fun stage right now. You smile when you see us and get so excited to see daddy at the end of a work day. You are a very happy baby and every time we see that smile, it just melts our hearts! We love you- m & d

  1. Krista,

The other fruit I found easy was mango! Meijer has frozen mango pieces. I just thaw them and put them in the food processor!! It is SO super easy and makes 5-6 of the baby cubes for only $2!
